OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE 

ZEME is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliable, safe and efficient operation of the Plant’s machinery and processing equipment. The successful candidate will carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose mechanical and basic electrical, control and instrumentation faults, support equipment installation and commissioning, and contribute to improving equipment reliability and Plant performance.

• …KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Install, inspect, maintain and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a preventive maintenance programme for Plant equipment and supporting systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and basic electrical, control and instrumentation problems and carry out or coordinate appropriate corrective action.
  • Identify sources of equipment problems by inspecting and observing machinery during operation.
  • Dismantle machinery and remove, repair or replace defective components where required.
  • Inspect and measure parts and components to determine wear, condition and replacement requirements.
  • Monitor, maintain, fault-find and repair equipment including water pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic pumps and piston systems, cooling-water circulation systems, air-extraction and air-movement equipment, and other process machinery.
  • Support the installation, setup, testing and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
  • Carry out routine inspections and identify potential failures before they result in breakdowns or production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment histories and preventive-maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain appropriate inventories of spare parts, consumables and maintenance supplies and assist with ordering when required.
  • Support and train production personnel in routine equipment checks and basic preventive-maintenance activities where appropriate.
  • Provide technical maintenance information and assistance to production personnel and management.
  • Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and support continuity of Plant operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, efficiency and overall Plant performance.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe maintenance work area and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
  • Comply with all Company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, rules and regulations.

Candidate Profile

• .CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Essential 
  • Technical qualification or professional accreditation in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a closely related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance or a similar technical role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of mechanical equipment, fault diagnosis, repair and preventive maintenance.
  • Experience with pumps, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, motors and industrial process machinery.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical faults and basic electrical, control and instrumentation issues.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, equipment manuals and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong awareness of workplace Health & Safety requirements in an industrial environment.
  • Good organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Very good working knowledge of English.

   

  Desirable 

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience in a metal-processing, recycling, foundry, manufacturing or heavy-industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting installation and commissioning of industrial machinery.
  • Experience developing or managing preventive-maintenance programmes.
  • Familiarity with industrial air-extraction, cooling-water and hydraulic systems.
  • Greek language skills would be an advantage.

  WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Work within an industrial production environment involving machinery, mechanical systems, elevated temperatures, noise and other normal Plant conditions.
  • Regular hands-on inspection, maintenance and repair of production equipment.
  • Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
  • Physical activity associated with industrial maintenance, including standing, walking, lifting, accessing machinery and use of tools.
