OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE 

ZEME is seeking experienced Industrial Workers to support the day-to-day operation of its aluminium recycling and processing facility. The successful candidates will work as part of the production team, assisting with scrap preparation and handling, furnace and casting operations, finished-product handling, housekeeping and other general plant activities. This is a hands-on, shift-based industrial position requiring previous experience in metallurgical operations and/or scrap recycling.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

• …KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Assist with the receipt, unloading, inspection, sorting and segregation of incoming aluminium scrap and other raw materials.
  • Prepare aluminium scrap for processing and ensure materials are placed in the correct production and storage areas.
  • Assist Furnace Operators with furnace charging, material preparation and other melting-related activities when trained and instructed to do so.
  • Support casting operations, including preparation of casting areas, moulds, conveyors and finished-product handling.
  • Assist with the removal, handling and storage of dross, slag and other production residues in accordance with Company procedures.
  • Assist with weighing, packing, stacking, labelling and storage of aluminium ingots and other finished products.
  • Support the movement of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products using authorised material-handling equipment.
  • Carry out general production, cleaning and housekeeping duties throughout the Plant, yard and storage areas.
  • Assist with routine equipment cleaning, basic maintenance and preparation activities under the direction of authorised personnel.
  • Inspect work areas and report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, contaminated materials or other irregularities to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Follow production schedules, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), shift instructions and directions from supervisors and management.
  • Work closely with Furnace Operators, Forklift Drivers, the Metallurgist and other production personnel to support safe and efficient Plant operations.
  • Comply at all times with Company Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Exercise particular care when working near furnaces, molten aluminium, hot materials, forklifts and other industrial equipment.
  • Participate in safety training, toolbox meetings and operational training as required.
  • Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude and perform other plant-related duties reasonably required by the Shift Supervisor or management.

Candidate Profile

• …CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Essential 
  • Previous practical work experience in metallurgical operations, metal processing, foundry operations and/or scrap recycling.
  • Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, recycling or heavy-production environment.
  • Good awareness of workplace Health & Safety requirements and the ability to follow safe working procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to carry out physically demanding production and material-handling duties.
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and overtime where required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a production team.
  • Reliable, responsible and safety-conscious approach to work.
  • Good working knowledge of English.

  Desirable 

  • Previous experience specifically in aluminium recycling, aluminium melting, foundry work or non-ferrous metal processing.
  • Familiarity with scrap-metal classification, segregation and preparation.
  • Experience working around furnaces, casting equipment or other heavy industrial machinery.
  • Experience using industrial tools or material-handling equipment.
  • Forklift training or licence would be considered an advantage.
  • Greek language skills would be an advantage.

  WORKING CONDITIONS 

  • Shift-based work, including evenings, nights, weekends and overtime depending on production requirements.
  • Work in an industrial environment involving high temperatures, noise, dust, machinery and aluminium-processing operations.
  • Regular standing, walking, lifting and other physical production activities.
  • Mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas.
