Linux System Administrator

CareerFinders, on behalf of our client, a newly established company operating in the Online Gaming sector, we are seeking to recruit a Linux System Administrator to join their team of professionals in Nicosia. The successful applicant will have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant systems administration experience with Linux and be fluent in both Russian and English.

• Maintain Linux servers, peripherals, services to meet operational requirements.
• Maintenance of Linux-based servers including regular systems updates.
• Analysis of corporate software incidents (second line of support).
• Debug HTTP and log analysis using (curl/grep / sed/awk).
• Monitoring of system and network performance.
• Ensure that covered systems meet or relevant regulatory recommendations.
• Manage and regularly test system backups.
• Create and maintain system and network configuration documentation etc.

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/IS, MIS, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of system administration experience to include:
  • 1+ years of experience operating a large-scale, 24×7 web environment.
  • 4+ years experience with Linux (Debian) or other Unix based operating system.
• Working knowledge of core Internet protocols and services (e.g. IP, TCP, UDP, NTP, DNS, HTTP, SMTP, etc) required.
• Strong Shell scripting Bash, Python, Ansible.
• Experience with large scale DNS and Mail systems (experience with Postfix required).
• Experience in diagnosing and resolving incidents in the operation of Linux server operating systems.
• DBMS tuning / optimization skills (PostgreSQL / MySQL / MongoDB).
• Basic Windows Server administration skills (you won’t have to administer Windows).
• Excellent written and verbal English and Russian communication skills. Ability to describe in detail the steps and approaches taken to complete your tasks.
