Where posts are announced
The Public Service Commission announces civil service posts in the Official Gazette of the Republic. Each announcement gives the duties, the qualifications, the salary scale and the closing date. They are listed on this page as they are published.
How to apply
Only online, through gov.cy, with a separate application for each post. From 1 November 2026 you need a verified CY Login account with active authentication, so set it up before a post you want is announced.
Written and oral examinations
For most first appointments you must also have passed the written examinations held for the public service; each announcement says which. Shortlisted candidates are then examined orally by the Commission.
Greek and English
Very good Greek is required for almost every post, and English for many. The Commission lists the certificates it accepts as proof of language knowledge.
Who can apply
Most posts are open to citizens of Cyprus and other EU countries; posts that exercise public authority can be reserved for Cypriot citizens. Each announcement states who can apply.
What changes from 2028
Parliament approved a reform on 5 November 2026: from 1 January 2028, first-appointment posts will be announced in the first two months of each year, so you will know each spring what is coming.
