Senior Network Administrator – Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Administrator to design, implement, maintain, secure, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex LAN/WAN environments, network security, cloud networking, and troubleshooting critical infrastructure issues. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to support business-critical operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Management

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and data center networks.
• Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controllers.
• Monitor network performance, capacity, and availability to ensure optimal operation.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects.

Network Security

• Implement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, VPNs, and segmentation.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and collaborate with cybersecurity teams on remediation efforts.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry best practices.
• Participate in incident response and forensic investigations related to network security events.

Cloud & Hybrid Networking

• Support networking components within cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Design and maintain hybrid connectivity solutions between on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Manage cloud networking services, VPN gateways, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, and virtual networks.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Perform advanced troubleshooting of network performance, connectivity, and security issues.
• Utilize network monitoring and management tools to proactively identify and resolve problems.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, policies, and operational procedures.
• Develop and update disaster recovery and business continuity documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Mentor junior network administrators and technical staff.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams.
• Participate in vendor evaluations, procurement processes, and contract management.
• Provide technical leadership for network-related projects and initiatives.
