Job Overview
GRS are working with a global Forex brokerage with multiple locations globally and are looking to hire an In House Legal Advisor to work as part of their growing team. Our client has been established in Cyprus for over 5 years and offers a variety of trading options to their clients. With a management team that has been in the business for over 20 years, you will be working with some of the most knowledgeable Forex minds in Cyprus. The successful profile will have previous experience within a similar role plus ideally hold the CYSEC Advanced certificate.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver practical, business oriented legal advice on various legal issues
- Provide guidance and recommendations on significant issues and assist in the day to day legal and regulatory activities of the company
- Manage various international projects
- Conduct legal analysis and research on various legal matters and to draft legal opinions, memoranda and other briefing documents.
- Advising on corporate and commercial matters, employment law, IT and technology law, data privacy etc.
- Be actively involved in preparing, reviewing, negotiating and drafting of commercial documents
- Drafting, review & control of legal and internal governance policies of the Company
- To be actively involved in international cooperation with different company partners, business correspondence, business meetings
- Deal with complex legal and business matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
- Assist the Head of Legal in daily duties and responsibilities.
- Advise management, heads and other staff on the Cyprus, EU and International legislation and other rules affecting business of the Company, including employment and regulatory issues
Candidate Profile
- Solid post-qualification legal experience in a business environment
- Basic or Advanced Certification of the Cyprus Securities & Exchange Commission will be considered an advantage
- Very good knowledge of the regulatory regime for financial markets and investment firms, primarily CYSEC and MiFID
- Working experience in and orientation towards English Law
- Knowledge of IT / IP / Data protection law and regulations would be considered an advantage
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking in English
